The 2nd Jinnah Research Conference 2025, hosted by Jinnah student
research society of Jinnah Medical College, Peshawar which took place
on September 17 and 18, 2025 with a theme: “From Bench to Bedside:
Research That Connects You to the Patients. The conference was featured a diverse
program including plenary sessions, workshops, and a series of
competitions in research presentation and videography.
The first workshop, led by Associate Prof. Dr. Ali Talha Khalil, addressed “Research ethics standards and dual use dilemma” indicating a focus on the principles and complex challenges of ethical research. This session was dedicated to the field of research ethics. The title focused on examination of established standards and protocols that govern ethical conduct in research. A specific analysis of the “dual use dilemma, ” which concerns research that could be applied for both beneficial and harmful purposes
The second workshop, presented by Prof. Dr. Waqar Ali, was titled “Clinical Audit: From Concept to Practice” focusing on a practical learning quality improvement in a clinical setting. This session centered on the implementation of clinical audits as a tool for quality improvement. The workshop covered the foundational ideas and purposes behind the clinical audit process. The session aimed to provide attendees with the knowledge to move from understanding the concept to executing audits in a real-world clinical environment.
The plenary session was presented by Dr. Mahrukh Ikram, titled “Bridging the gap between theory and practice in health profession education” focused on a critical challenge within health profession education and the need to effectively connect theoretical knowledge with practical application.
This was a hands-on practical workshop led by Prof. Dr. Zilli Huma, focusing on anatomical science through the dissection of a mammalian heart, held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in Anatomy Dissection Hall. This hands on workshop provided a practical understanding of mammalian heart anatomy. Participants will move beyond textbooks by conducting a dissection to explore the internal structures of a real heart
This was a hands-on practical workshop led by Prof. Dr. Farhat Rehana Malik, centered on academic research and writing standards. It was designed to teach the correct use of a specific academic referencing style (e.g., APA, MLA, Vancouver, or IEEE). The goal was to equip researchers with the skills to accurately cite sources, avoid plagiarism, and maintain the formal standards required for publishing research articles
